FreddieMac offers YouTube Homeowners Assistance

According to RealtyTrac approximately 32% of homeowners in Waukegan, IL have received notice of foreclosure. This is nearly double the National average of 17%. One out of every 314 homeowners received a foreclosure filing in February, 2011.

This information has not gone unnoticed by FreddieMac, one of America’s biggest buyers of home mortgages. Recently, FreddieMac has embraced technology and social media by creating the FreddieMac Channel on YouTube.

The agency has posted informative videos to help homeowners struggling with foreclosure. The first series of videos are designed to debunk the myths of foreclosure. Each video is less than two minutes long and are designed to help homeowners understand how a foreclosure affects them in the future and where to obtain further information.

Although Waukegan is nearly double the National foreclosure rate, Lake County, IL is not far behind at 31%, again from a recent study conducted by RealtyTrac.
